Published in September 2019, at the age of 16, was my book “Aboard the ‘Ilima,” which tells the story of a group of friends facing off against monsters from Hawai’ian legends on a boat ride out to sea.
Though out of print, this was a fun exercise as a young writer in character building, story arcs, and having fun with writing about grand adventures like the books I was immersed in reading.
Written when I was 13-14 and published in 2018, this was my first novel. It tells the story of a set of twins who get separated by a stow away time machine ride and their journey to get back to each other across time.
While this book is out of print, it will always hold a special place in my heart. It taught me that my dreams were achievable and marked a huge step in my journey as a writer.
